Turkey pavilion

I just saw the Turkey’s pavilion of the shanghai expo 2010 and it is really so cool. It has perforated red walls and seems so sweet. It is written 土耳其 (tuerqi) on it. That means‘Turkey’ in chinese.
I thought that Turkey wouldn't participate in 2010 expo organization but I just saw its pavilion ad on the shanghai daily news (http://www.shanghaidaily.com/) . And what a coincidence, it has showed the pavilions by turns but i liked the two pavilions most. they are pavilions of Brazil and Turkey . They really harmonize each other. look at the colors. they are both so colorful and eye-catching :))
It is really great to see our pavilion, I am so happy now to see it. Hehe. I must go to see it. The beginning of this year, I went to shanghai for the auto fair 2009 and the fair was hold at the shanghai expo center. The pavilions was being construted round the center. I saw many of them still under construction. Yes, they were still being builded at that time. Today, they are probably about to finish. And after passing several months, I will go to see them. Coz they can be done in several months. There are many interesting architectures and they are really worth to visit. Hope to have a chance to see soon. These days I am very busy and can not go to anywhere.
There are many countries pavilions there. I am in china and that is a great chance for me. I couldn't go to beijing 2008 at that time though I was in china but this time I wont miss the chance. Because shanghai is so near and moreover expo will take months. It will be great to take fascinating photos. expo is a big organization and hundred of thounds people from various countries will gather for it. It will be terrific, I can sense it.
I was in shanghai one month ago and almost every part of shanghai was under construction, as If they renew the aspect of the city. Chinese people known for their diligence and they have been preparing thoroughly for the expo organization. What else do we expect, just wish success!

another day has gone...

I just got back from school coz I had an exam today. Thanks God that it s over now. When I selected classes, I choosed that Chinese calligraphy class but what s worse, I didn't know that it was only theoretically. Teacher have lectured the history of the chinese calligraphy for hours and I just occupied in doing some other things like reading or keeping other friends busy. I attended classes because I might fail the course if I didn't do it. Anyway, as I said it is over.
Well, I said the teacher when I saw that the class is not practical, I told him that I wanted to attend a practical chinese calligraphy course instead of listening that theoretical stuffs.
Fortunately, there was some calligrapy classes that I asked to attend. He asked me to join his Wednesday classes and then I started to learn calligraphy practically. It is not easy, at least harder than I thought. But the class lasted only for two months and gonna start again next semester. I have to wait till next semester to carry on the class. No way but trying to do at home all by myself for two months.
I am really happy that theoretical class not last anymore but it made me sorry to be given an end to that practical class. Tomorrow’s class is the last one for this semester. I will carry on next semester where I left.
I am dealing with many things these days, really so busy with many things. I am thinking of someone and I cant help it. It makes me thoughtful and absent minded sometimes but I am still trying to live and finish the unfinished things in my life. I prepared a cup coffee for myself and start to write this paper you are reading now. I am tired of writing about that thesis outline. I just prepared a great frothy Turkish coffee and I am sipping on it now. Hmm. Delicious.  Coffee lightens my stress load.

a small trip to Abant lake

Last summer, I went to Abant lake with my bosom friends from high school.

I couldn’t meet with my friends many times because I had worked during summer and my friends also same with me. You can understand that you are already mature that life assume on you many responsibilities.. we are not same as we were free and irresponsible as in high school.

Mami and Mali were with me, but Hamdi was busy at time and he couldn’t join us. We have met at the morning and set off around eight o’clock. Mami had a small pick-up and we get some oil and went to Bolu Abant directly. It was a well journey and longer than I expected. It was good to see there but it was not a good time to visit. Timing was really bad. Because we were fasting and couldn’t eat and drink anything. It was a good time for a good picnic if it was not Ramadan. We waited for iftaar and went to a restaurant in the center of Bolu city. It was a small and cute city. After breaking our fast, we went to seek a Bolulu Hasan Usta sweet seller. It is so famous in Istanbul and I thought we may find at least a store of Bolulu in Bolu center. But we couldn’t find anyone. J we didn’t have much time, so we went in another cafeteria. After eating sweets, we set off to get back. A long journey was waiting for us.

When we were on the way, two guys were trying to hitch-hike. My friend asked us to take them. They tried to get back to Istanbul, same destination with us. So we let them in the car and left them in Istanbul. It was a bravely and adventurous move. If you do it in China, you may be down on the road for hours, I think nobody would let you in his car, if you are a foreigner in particular. Of course I am not sure about that because I have not attempted such a venture. But as I know Chinese people, it is so hard for them to take a person in their car, except if they know the person. Anyway!..

When we arrived to Istanbul, it was already too late and my mother was still waiting for me. I don’t know when the madame will stop to treat me as a child. We didn’t do anything but I was really exhausted.

I don’t know if we go there again but this summer I will ask buddies to do another activity. For instance, camping. I like to camping so much. Sleep in a tent, fishing, swimming and nights without electricity and technology, for several days, can be a great adventure. We will have a lot of fun if we do. I still don’t know how my summer vacation will pass but I want to let off my steam with my friends. I really miss them so much.

the future of love on the net

kurdish songs : if you are able to understand!.

Kurdish is a language spoken in many different territories and countries. It is estimated that more than 40 million people around world can speak Kurdish as a native language. As a Kurdish person, I had made some researches on Kurdish English in order to have more information on my own mother tongue. Because even though I am a Kurdish, but my Kurdish is still too rusty and poor. That is the result of being without-Kurdish education. I have grown up in Istanbul and don’t have chance to use Kurdish so much. It is good for me to not forget Kurdish totally thanks to my mother. My anne always has talked with me in Kurdish whether I reply in Turkish or in Kurdish. So If I still know some Kurdish, that is because of the effort of my mother to teach us to not forget our own mother tongue.

I don’t remember but as my parents have been saying, Kurdish was banned in Turkey for many years. You could not listen your own songs and could not speak your language in public places. It must be so interesting. Whatsit… It is not banned today and you can sign up a learning Kurdish course or study Kurdish major in universities. Nobody would say something only because you listen or sing a Kurdish song. what s more, it is opened a Kurdish state channel as well. You can watch anything in your mother tongue if you are a Kurd. Anyway…

What I want to do here is not giving some political messages. I just want to write something on Kurdish music and songs. I don’t know what had been banned by the state but if they did it for music, I would break the all rules as many people did as I know. Music and art should not be an instrument to the political problems and matters. They should be regarded as different and kept away from political problems even though they can be used as instruments to damage state’s policy.

In Turkey, Kurdish population is large and they have been living with Turks since centuries. So they intermixed with Turks. Because, the official language in Turkey is Turkish, so Kurdish people also have education in Turkish and can speak Turkish same as their native language and sometimes even better than their own language. As I can see around myself, many Turkish people also know some simple Kurdish words. They may got them from songs, because most of them like Kurdish songs. They don’t understand, but do we get the songs which we listen in English or in another language? I am not sure..

It is good to listen various songs from different places but if you can understand the lyrics, it will be better. How many of us can take pleasure in the songs that we cant understand? A song can be listened only coz of its melody but lyrics also important as much as melody. We Kurdish of course can take pleasure in Turkish songs but Turkish people can not do it in Kurdish songs, they may can do it to some extent. I am sure that if they could understand, they would love to listen more and more.

No one can stay idle after listening the lament for the dead people in Halepce genocide. You will cry if you listen from Siwan Perver. There are many fairly well and real Kurdish singers and artists. i can not list all of them here but some of them that known more around world are Agire Jiyan, Ciwan Haco, Aram Tigran and Siwan Perver.

Whether crying or having fun, Kurdish songs are worth to listen. I respect all Kurdish poets, singers and movie makers. They are trying to keep alive Kurdish language without damaging people.

Lastly, I wanna let you know some songs that you may like and listen.

Aram Tigran- ay dilbere

Ciwan Haco - na na

Agire Jiyan- car yar

Agire Jiyan- zer mircan

source of hapinness:family

I have four sisters. Çimen,Demet,Zeynep and Kübranur.. When I left from home, they were vey small that still not attended even primary school. Zeynep and Kübranur didnt attend primary school. But today they really amaze me so much with their talking, thoughts and behaviours.. I figured out that they already became matures like me. I would like to talk with them so much. Sometimes we have words for hours till midnight. We are talking about anything such as the goals for our future, school and lessons, teachers, friends, the songs that we like, the books which we like, the things that we cant afford to buy, the good places where we visit and the jokes made by my father and the words that told by mother when she s angry to us.. I am the only guy among the four girls but I like to talk with them and listen their problems and expectation from the future.. I actually get used to stay with girls from the high school and university because there was girl’s majority in our class when I was in high school. Now, in my class at unıversity is also same. The majority of girls is obvious. Sometimes you cant find even a boy though girls are more than sixty in the class. So there is no way but talk with girls and make friends with girls. I am not gay :)) –thanks God- but sometimes thoughts of girls come more reasonable to me. Of course I still prefer to make friends with guys instead of girls, but girls are more hardworking than boys, and that s why I like girls more than boys. Most of boys are lazy and playing computer games in China. I had seen same thing in Turkey as well. So I have hope that my sisters will study and be successful.
Demet is a bit lazy but zeynep and kübranur are very good at their classes. Demet like to eat instead of studying, so as a natural consequence she is becoming fatter rather than becoming better :)) I always joke about her fattiness.. thanks God that she doesnt care. Zeynep and Kübra are better than demet but they are all like to reading so much including Çimen too. They mostly inform on each other even though I usually say dont put the finger on each other but they still do it. I can know easily what they do, so It is good for advise them against bad habit and bad friends.
My family is big. I have 3 elder sisters and one brother; but they are all marriaed already and have children. So there are only 5 people at home now.
Last day I and my mother talked about our family during dinner. She was feeling sad and said
-After you went to china, your brother and sisters married and left from home. we here left only 5 people -actually a normal family should be consist of at most 5 member as for me :) -
My parents love their girls so much and felt sad when they married and left home. According as my mother said, my dad almost cries when they start to eat dinner without girls. I also same with my father and feel sad when I am without girls. we were a big and happy family but now we fell to pieces. everyone in a place now. we cant reunion properly. I will organize a great and big reunion part in the near future. My sisters are my all. I want and wish a good and healthy future for them.

the language of colors

Tell me your color, I will tell you your personality.
Today I read a news on the paper that told your favorite color is related with your personality. I already knew this. My favorite colors are black and white. I always wear black and white T-shirts,socks and trousers, even shoes as well. Sometimes people ask me if I dont have any other color clothes, I say that I love that s why I always wear these two colors.
I was curious about the personalities of people who love black and white, coz I am one of them as well. The article diveded colors into two groups... bright colors are red,yellow,orange... - and sad colors consist of green, blue, purple, black... and so on. Every color tell something about its lover’s state of mind. What does black tell about me? :) It said that I am authoritative and bossy if I like black. It said black is the sign of power, ability and autority... I dont know how much does it right but there must be partly correct as for me. Anyway ... let s have a look for white...
How about white? What does white tell about my personality and state of my mind? It said people impressed so much from the people who like white, because white is the sign of sincere, purity, innocency, honesty and so on... This one is almost totally correct for me, because I cant deceive people even if I want. Something prevents me from doing so and it should be my conscience and heart.
Red is the sign of being friendly and merciful, yellow is the sign of being intellectual, orange is braveness and loving adventures, black is the sign of being authority, blue is popularity and so on... So does your favorite color give any clue about your personality? It gives to me...

life is better without smoking, isnt it?

Cigarette is banned in Turkey as from 19 july. You cant light a joyfull cigarette after eating dinner in a restaurant or while sipping your cafe or during playing cards or backgammon with friends in a cafe house anymore. Turkish style coffe houses are known as the place where you can play cards, drink tea, watch football matches and pass the time of day by chatting. Almost all of people who go the coffe houses are smoking. What s more, most of them complain about being out of a job, I hope this ban will help them to go out and try to find a job because passing whole day in a coffehouse never make you have a job. You must go after jobs, if you wait a job to come a coffehouse and find you, dont wait for nothing coz ıt will never find you. :) anyway .
The expression –smoke like a Turk- may be history soon coz I think the ratio of smokers will decrease after this ban. At least I hope so. I dont know how many people smoke in Turkey but the number of smokers are not a few. Many people around me smoke though I hate smoke and smokers. Most of them are my relatives and there is no way but be present in same place with them. Personally, I dont like to accopany with a smokers since the midle-school. Unfortunately the age of starting to smoke has become almost 13. I dont know how I didnt start to smoke in middle-school as most of my friend was smoking. Oh God was protected me I think. You can start to smoke or drink alcohol or get any kind of bad habit thanks to(!) friends. Thanks God that my all friends dont smoke and drink.
As I said, my all friends dont smoke and drink, so I am really very easy annoyed of smoke of cigarette and smell of alcohol. Especially when I think that the smoke comes out from other mouth and go in my nose, auww... I never find a good side of smoking. It s totally harmful and damaging to both budget and health ... There are plus damages of smoking like 69 tl penalty after smoking in closed area. :)) be careful and never say - so, what will happen if I smoke here!. hehe
It will be great for Turkey and Turkısh people. Turkish people will be more healthy from 19 july. As health minister declared, over 100.000 people die from smoking every year. So people wont die anymore from smoking. Is there any good news from this?
It s said that the ban can affect the economic situation and many people can lose their job, but health is more important than everything. People can find another job but cant get his life again. No matter what happens, many people support cigarette ban. They can eat their meal beneath a clear weather and shopping in a good environment.
Although some opposition, most of Turks are happy with ban even if they are smokers. Many people want to quit but await for an excuse, and this is a great excuse for quitting . come on! It s time to quit smoking. I wish smokeless days for Turkey. We all are deserve to live beneath a clear weather. Thanks to government for this award.

I want my blog :((

Today most of us are aware of the importance of blogging. Many people share their knowledge and experience via such websites. Everybody cannot afford to get a domain of course. So blogs is a solution in such cases. Domains are not very expensive today but people still prefer to use blogs. I think getting a blog is better than having domain. You can train and improve your writing skill via blogs and share your ideas and writings with everybody by this way. In the days of old, just some of fashion people (aristocrats) could publish their ideas. But today everybody can do it. That is a great matter. It is not only for sharing something, but also a great way to meet new people. It is so easy to have a blog. Just takes a few minutes. I recommend everyone to get a blog. I too have been blogging for years.
I had created my first blog on blogcu.com three years ago. I wanted to write something and published them on it. But long afterwards, I went cold on writing and forgot my password on blogcu.com. I used to add something on it but they were not my own writings. So it was not so enjoyable and joyful for me to deal with it. I quited to manage the blog later on. I don’t know how it happened but last month I reopened a new blog. But it was not on blogcu.com, I opened the new one on the blogspot.com. It is more useful than blogcu. It is belong to google inc., so I thought I would use it free of problems. But last week when I tried to open blogger.com, it couldn’t open. I thought my computer caused the problem, but after trying at some different place and times, I couldn’t believe my eyes but it seemed that blogger was banned in China. I was really surprised. I never thought that blogger can be banned but it was. I had no feeling to write any more. I hate prohibitions.
It has been more than ten days that blogger is banned in china like youtube. Yeah, youtube also has been banned for one year. We got used to live without youtube already, coz there are youtube’s alternatives here such as youku.com or tudou.com or a Turkish video portals like izlesene.com. But youtube has comprised all videos on other websites I mentioned above. So it was so convenient to use, now I cant find all videos I want on other video portals. Anyway, let youtube alone, china banned blogger as well unfortunately. I could not log in my blogger account for days, but fortunately I found another way to enter the blog now. Thanks to tunnal websites that I can log in. But worse luck, I can not add photo and video beside my writings when I published them on the blog. So that is why my last several articles published without picture and video. As you can see below, I published them unattractively. I hope that blogger will open again soon.
It can be used in other countries as I know. So I don’t quit writing. I am still writing. After getting back to Turkiye this summer, I want to rearrange them and make them more attractive by adding related article photos and videos. And hope to find blogger as open after returning to China. It cannot be stopped. Yeah it is unstoppably spreading everywhere. Many people use such websites and they may criticize such prevention. So the prohibition can last one year at the most. Because, blocking is not the solution.

eurovision and success of hadise

Eurovision was held in Moscow last week. I actually don’t follow that competition enthusiastically but I can say that many competing songs are fairly well. Especially in recent years, eurovision is held more professionally and quality. Singers and songs are better than before. That is so at least when we consider the case of Turkiye.. Yes, Turkiye also has participated assertively in that competition every year since 1975 but only one time came in first with the performance of Sertab Erener.
Turkiye has been participating in that contest since 1975 and two times brought up the rear. Turkiye got the first serious degree in 1997 as being third with the performance of Sebnem Paker. The song was Turkish and despite of this, it got a big success and made us believe that we could get a better grade in the future. And we achieved the success and came in first six years later with the song ‘ Every way that I can’ . After that serious success, we don’t have any other important achievement except becoming fourth with Athena and Kenan Dogulu. Athena was deserving of coming in first but performance of Kenan Dogulu was awful and I think he didn’t deserve to be fourth in that contest. Anyway, that is just my opinion and no need to evaluate all of singers here.
Let s come to the nitty-gritty, this year as all we know, Turkiye was really assertive and hopeful of the performance of Hadise but we all disappointed as Hadise herself did. Yeah Hadise is also made herself believe to be the best that she didn’t satisfy with the result and angried committee of Eurovision after releasing the results. Well, were they unfair to us then? Or have we expected so much? I think there was no unfair thing, we just expected so much. Remember, when the song released on TRT at first time, didn’t we declare Hadise as first before contest. Performance was great as for most of us, but simplicity won again as it has won before. Yes, if you still remember the show of Sertab, you will understand what I mean. Her show was simple like the show of Rybak, the winner of 2009. We were positive of the song that we let it beside and started to debate about what Hadise would wear for the final night. So what is the result? It is a huge disappointment.
I must say that it is not a frustration for me. I think Hadise achieved a huge success by this result. The song is ok and deserved being fourth not anymore. Don’t say they were unfair of us just because we are Muslim or Turk. Azerbaijan is also a Muslim and Turk country but they got a better grade than us. And don’t forger that we have a first place in that contest. If they think so, they never let us to get this grade. Am I wrong? Our high expectation caused a big disappointment. That is all. When I watched the video on youtube, I browsed an eye on the comments and figured out that Turkish people really expected to be first from that time. They had been taken ‘dum tek tek’ as the first and best. But we have seen that it is not as great as it is exaggerated.
Hadise made a statement at the airport after getting back to Turkiye and said she won’t participate in the competition again. Don’t worry Hadise, we Turkish people also don’t want you fly Turkish flag one more time. Go to represent the place where you belong to, as you also know, you don’t belong to Anatolia. Go to at the end of nowhere.
I think authorities should select a person who can show our national character and perfom the national music. A person who has national feelings. We must use our own musical instruments like kanun(zither), ney(reed flute), baglama and so on. We may not be the first but I think our aim with the participation in contest must be introducing our culture and instruments to the world. Believe me, we can be first many times if we do so. So I recommend to participate in next contest with a folk song. I watched the old eurovision songs and unfortunately saw that there is no folk music among them. So doesn’t it worth to try at least once? We should be ourselves.

my brother

The other day, I listened a folk song from Erkan Ogur. The name of the song is Zeynebim and it is a well-known and beloved folk song undoubtedly. It had been a long time that I have not listen it. It is actually a great love song and I think if you listen it, you doubtlessly can be regarded in love or were in love before and still remember your beloved. That is why you still listen it as for me…But it is never remind me someone I love or loved before... I remember my brother when I every time listen it. Because, I had heard that song from my brother for the first time. Not just this song, there are some other songs such as ‘kara tren’ by ozhan eren, aysem from orhan gencebay as well. He was always listening these songs when we stayed in the same room. So I still listen these song with a great pleasure.
Erkan Ogur= Zeynebim
Orhan gencebay=Ayshen
Ozhan Eren=Kara Tren
When I was five, my brother enrolled a public boarding school and studied there until graduated from middle-school. And he got back to home only one time for a month and stayed only two days with us. I always missed him so much. I didn’t have chance to play with my brother. I have never played football with him…but to tell the truth, he also liked football so much just as I did. I still remember when he returned to home for a weekend, he has always talked about the match which he played with his schoolmates at the school. And I still remember, I once entered his room and saw him when he was trying to listen something in the radio. I asked him
-‘what are you doing here’ and ‘what is the program you are listening?’… and he said;
-‘come to join me, this is the football match, my team’s match. Besiktas. Do you want to listen with me?’ He asked me. He watched it with a huge enthusiasm in so much that I couldn’t able to desist myself from joining. Today I support Besiktas football club just because of my brother. He liked it and that was the reason I like too. I admired my brother and I like almost everything he likes. My brother is unique for me. I love him so much.. And I think the reason was the distance between us. He was away from home and I missed him so much and accepted what he had. But I don’t complaint of course, because I have never seen a bad side of my brother. He taught me to ride the bike, he told me the importance of the books and gave me the first novel I read, he took me to swimming all the setting my mom’s face against it and many other activities like that.
Now we are still away from each other unfortunately. It seems that we got used to be far away.  But anyway, we have dreams that we want to realize.
We have never been two friends. We are always two brothers. And we always respect each other. He trusts me so much, so do I too. He has been married for years and has two children. I love my nephew and niece so much same as I love my brother. I pray for my brother to has a great life and family for a lifetime..My brother deserve everything good in the world. I am lucky to have a brother lihe him. In a word, I love my brother and the things he loves. And I miss him so much.

eye-catching ads

Advertising is a necessary way to exhibit your product to consumer. Today there are many ways to advertise your products such as radio and tv commercials or placing ads on papers and magazines. The ads published on magazines and papers or radio and tv commercials are the most effective ways to reach the target group in the shortest time possible. If you use the Tv and radio to broadcast your commercial films, you of course can reach a wider audience and promotion campaign can reach the goal easily. It is a great way but expensive though. Yes, especially tv and papers charge a lot of money for their services. So clients turn towards other alternatives and also start to consider new alternatives. The soaring costs of TV are prompting clients to consider something new and cheap.
Nowadays, another way to place ads is available. Yes, internet is also a great opportunity to reach consumers. Producers use internet so much and place most of their ads on the net in place of TV. one decades ago, you could see people to spend their a lot of times watching TV, but it is not same as before, because people already spend their times before internet more than spend it in front of TV. So it can be regarded more cleverly to give your ads to influential websites instead of TV or radios by paying a huge amount of money. But as far as I concerned, internet advertising is getting more expensive if you want to place your ads on an effective and visited website.
Today most of manufacturer head for outdoor advertising. And they think the cheapest way of ads is outdoor advertising even though it is not address a wide audience. It is so cheap and effective too. You can come across with huge advertising boards on the streets… Not just boards, you can also see ads on public buses, taxies, boats, building walls and many such places. But if you want such ads to be more influential, you should make them more creatively and unforgettable. By making so, people will tell each other and your ad will spread everywhere from mouth to mouth.
Because I saw some ads on the net and they appeal to my visuality. It was really exhibited spectacularly. So it is so hard for me to forget it after seeing only one time. And I spoke of it everywhere and recommend people to see such ads. Coz they are really worth to see. There was a correction fluid ads’ picture on the net and it was artful and reasoned. There was a big box of correction fluid at the start of the zebra crossing on the street and it was posed as if the lines drawn with the fluid in the box. That was really artful and unforgettable. So I liked it. And there were many such eye-caching ads on the site.
When I was in middle school, I watched cartoons and music channels instead of TV shows. And it was a pleasure for me to watch commercials as well. I never missed them. Yet more, sometimes I was being sad when the commercials were over and the program I watched started. But I watched them with a critical and judicially eye. I sometimes didn’t like some commercials and thought how would I do if I were the person who prepared that commercial film. I thought I can make a better one and I decided to be an adman sometimes. Now I am not an adman but still like to watch commercials with a critical eye. But today it is obvious that the commercials are made more effective and funny in order to catch eyes when we compare with before. So nowadays spending money is increased and people don’t satisfy with what they have. That is the negative side of the advertising. The most important thing is being conscious consumer. If you are conscious, you will never waste the things you have. Try to be so…I will. Good luck to everyone of us...!

if you see a good idea, copy it!

for made in China, using is believing!

China’s economy is developing rapidly and it is being expected to be the most powerful economy in the world in spite of USA and European Union. If you just think of china’s history of two decades ago, you will understand clearly the developing rate of china. I have talked with a person who lives in china for more than fifteen years, this mean he experienced half of development from the start of the 80’s, he said, at that time there was no sign of development even in the biggest cities of china, but today you never believe your eyes if you had been in china at 80’s. When I landed at the airport in Shanghai at first time, I didn’t believe my eyes after seeing Shanghai scenery. It was amazing coz I didn’t except a Shanghai like that. In a word, as for me China is not an undeveloped country any longer.
China is developing rapidly, that is known by everyone who follows daily agenda. But how it can be possible to develop like this? First of all, china is the most suitable production place in the world coz you can find the cheapest manpower in China. You can find and produce almost any kind of things…Second one, In china you can find many things with a cheap price. It can be not original but as same as its original. Yeah I mean its copy. Chinese people can copy anything from clothes to cars as good as you are not able to imagine. If you want to buy a Nike or Adidas sneakers but you don’t have enough money to get an original one, don’t be sorry, because you can buy a new sneakers with a low price. Yes it is copy but nobody knows if it is copy or not, it is a master copy. :))) haha
There are fake markets in every part of china. When I was in shanghai, I sometimes went to there and buy some fake clothes. They are not hardwearing but you can wear at least one year. I had seen many foreigners to buy fake products in such fake markets, because in western countries produce fake products are illegal and it is hard to find copy goods. They come to here for travel or business and before returning, they stuff their luggage with many fake products.
Now I don’t go to fake markets as much as before. I am not a brand slave person but I still try to buy original brands in spite of the high prices. Yeah you can wear them for a long time. Sometimes I am using Chinese brands as well. I don’t want skip the fact that Chinese people not copy only clothes, but also copy brands as well. Li Ning is a Chinese sport equipment brand and its slogan and logo are almost same with Nike. As all we know Nike’s slogan is ‘Impossible is nothing’, and try to guess what is the slogan of Li Ning? It is ‘ Anything is possible’. So easy to guess, hih? :)) But such brands are more quality and pricy than fakes ones.
How about the other fields?
If you want to get a new car, but you can’t afford to buy and the prices are over your budget, they don’t need to cow your eyes anymore, because here in China you can find a car according your budget. No need to pay a lot of money to buy a BMW X5 , get a cheap imitation, I mean SHUANHUAN CEO or get a BYD with a low price, no need to buy a TOYOTA, get a BRILLANT AUTO instead, don’t buy a HONDA CRV, buy a LAIBAO SRV in place of it. Don’t worry, appearance is almost same, but I don’t want say anything on their quality. hehe :))
China is really well-known for their capability of imitation almost everything from DVD to automotive parts and even car design.
They made a small difference when they copy the models. China imitates the cars with a small difference in order to prevent a probable problem. Because, many automakers make complaints on imitation issue. Chinese automakers are sued by many well-known automakers because of that imitation matter. Chinese courts, in any case, make decision in favor of Chinese brands and they show the small differences between cars as the reason. In result, they can not do anything because of that small difference. Anyway, it seems that nobody can manage to get this problem under control, yeah anyone and any country can stop China from imitating the things.
When I was at the Shanghai auto show last month, I was surprised seeing a lot of Chinese visitors taking many pictures of new car models. They took many pictures of motors, bodies, wheel rims and all other parts of cars carefully with their high quality DSLR cameras. They did that in order to imitate it later on.
I don’t care what people think about that imitation issue but I want to say that I support it although I know it is not a correct etiquette. Think a bit, America copied UK and got the quality later on, Japan copied USA and attained quality, even got ahead of them and now China imitates Japan, USA and Europe. They start to attain quality in Chinese product when you compare with several decades ago. Two days ago,I have read an article written by Hong Liang about SLR cameras adaptors quality under the title of ' For made in China, using is believing' on China daily. The columnist compared the Chinese products with Japan and Germany products and said China starts to make goods quality better than other countries by giving an example from himself. Some people added comments and one of them said ‘Quality is a problem when buying Chinese made goods. In my experience, it is not how the Chinese made goods looks or works in the store. The problem is that when you take it home, it doesn't last long. Everything i buy in China or in other countries but made in China breaks after a few weeks. Things that are supposed to last years, only last a month. That is the problem with Made in China.’
Do I agree with that person as a person who live in China and see Chinese products? The answer is no of course. In Turkiye, China was known with its cheap and nasty goods a few years ago. There were many shops at that time where you could find one lira’s poor quality Chinese goods. Like as the person who made comment on the article, many Turkish people also started to face same problems after buying made in china goods - of course no one should expect from such products to last for a long time, because you pay a low price for it- and people started to mention China with its cheapjack goods. Now, Turkish people still don’t trust to made in China products even if they have a good quality. But that was not the fault of China, that was the fault of Turkish businessmen who bought poor quality goods from China and gained a lot of many from demand. If you ask manufacturer in China to produce quality goods, no doubt, they will do it.
No matter what people say, China really starts to produce quality products. I think we will find high quality Chinese products in the future days. And I also think Turkiye too should start to copy. Look, we don’t even have a domestic car. And look at China, you can see many Chinese brands domestic cars. They already entered the Turkish car market as well and cherry’s TV commercials broadcast on Turkish channels. You will find many Chinese brands cars on our streets in the coming years. So why don’t we imitate their cars and motors for producing our own car. I think we should do it. Don’t say I had started to think like Chinese because of living with them, they are doing right(!). If you see a good idea, copy it. :)))

are you aware of the danger? :)))

I have been obsessed with something for years. I am not able to remember when I start to be obsessed but I still remember people were angry with me when I was at high school because of my habit. I wash my hands exaggeratively. After using the bathroom, I always – without exception- wash my hands at least five times with liquid soap. Many people around me say only one time enough for washing hands if you use soap. I don’t think so and as I know, if you want to keep your hands clean, you must wash it at least two times. I think minimum one time, maximum three times can be enough. But I still wash more than three times. Because of this I said I have been obsessed with something. Yes, I have been obsessed with overwashing my hands. I tried to quit that habit but I couldn’t manage to quit. I know washing hands many times is waste of soap because my roommate always makes a complaint about soap and says to me that I run out of soap. I don’t do it intentionally indeed, I can’t help it. I always think there are still bacteria on my hands after washing several times, so I carry on washing until satisfied.
After outbreaking of the flu, the importance of washing hands is understood one more time. It is recommended to wash hands clearly and thoroughly after using bathroom, before and after eating something. And the most important one during that swine flu is that hands should be washed properly with soap after sneezing or coughing.
I read an article about washing hands on The New York Times under the title of ‘Many Don't Wash Hands After Using the Bathroom’ and it said most of people say they wash their hands after using the bathroom. But a new study suggests that many of them are not telling the truth. This survey should be made in USA but in China situation is not so far from the situation in USA. You can see people don’t even wash their hands with water, let alone washing with soap. So sometimes you really abstain from handshake with Chinese people. Of course I don’t say they are all same, because I saw many people who show attention to hygiene. If they wash the hands, they can be away from the sicknesses. That is important for their own interests. As I can see in China, people pay attention to their health, but when we take the hygiene, I can’t say the same thing unfortunately. That is the impressions they gave me.
So what is the case in Turkiye? I think we Turkish people are lucky, because using soap and water is regarded as necessary in our culture. You can find soap in every bathroom, even at public bathrooms too. I must say that this result from the Islamic culture. God commands to keep your clothes, your body and environment clean and forbid to remain dirty. So Muslims try to do so.
Another thing attracted my attention when I read the article. It was that women are more sensitive and diligent than men. According to survey, 90 percent of women washed their hands while only 75 percent of the men did it.
Then what is the problem? Education? This survey made in USA and they are so-called civilized community. They are really educated. So I think the problem is not education, it is the health education. Dr. Osterholm said like this in his article. And he gave an example too. Let me quote it from the article as same as he wrote. "It's not about education," said Dr. Osterholm. "It's about hygiene education. We have a problem at hospitals with doctors and nurses who don't wash their hands after seeing a patient. You can't get more educated than that."
Yes, the problem is really hygienic education. Not only Chinese common people, but also European and American people should get this education. I think western culture teaches China many things but not hygiene. Hope to see the day everyone become aware of the importance of hygiene. I at least want to see in China…Education is necessary.. :))

chinese wedding ceremony

One month ago one of my old Chinese friends got married. I met him when I was in Shanghai. We have done so many things together. We used to eat out, used to have good times together. He was always helping me to improve my Chinese. I still remember I asked so many questions, and he answered them consistently. He corrected my pronunciation mistakes, showed me how I should start to write a character, told me what is the best way to learn Chinese in the shortest time possible. I learned a lot in his hands.
He used to come to my room and cook Chinese foods. Thanks to him I got used to eat Chinese foods. I invited him to eat Turkish foods too. I also was invited to his home to have a dinner. His mother cooked assorted foods for us. That day was the birthday of his mother and we celebrated it as well. It was a good and unforgettable night.
Due to different cultures, sometimes we really had difficulty to understand each other. Once we went to an amusement park and went boating on the small lake. After a while, I bored with rowing. I begun to plash water on him for making him laugh and making environment funnier, but he looked at me as if I was out of my mind. He asked why I did it and didn’t believe when I said it was just a joke. After explanation he finally convinced that it wasn’t intentional.
We were really bosom friends till I left from shanghai. We are still good friends of course but I am afraid not as good as before. Thanks God I am still working to keep in touch with him. That is why I was invited to wedding. :))
It would be the first time for me to attend a Chinese wedding. I actually didn’t like any kind of ceremony such as wedding, engagement, funeral and so on, but you can understand it is necessary after growing up. Because you are invited personally. I asked some married Chinese couples how a Chinese wedding take place and what should I do during the wedding ceremony. They told me that I must get an envelope – it should be red, coz red color is regarded as chance in Chinese society- and put an amount of money and give it to bridegroom before entering the ceremony. Bride & Groom already welcome you before the door of the saloon. You should offer the red envelope to the bridegroom at that time.
They showed us a table to sit at until the wedding started. I sat with some of bridegroom’s relatives. We talked each other all during wedding. They were very friendly, hospitable, thoughtful and nice people. In the beginning of the wedding, bride and groom were called to the stage; and asked some questions such as where they did met and how, how much they love each other and a dozen of such question. :)) Then both of bride and groom told to each other good and romantic words and they also told to the guests the qualities they like in each other. Then dinner was served to the guests. And another thing attracted my attention was that bridegroom have walked around the tables one after another and propose a toast with the guests sit round the table. When the wedding finished, bride already have gotten drunk and he had difficulty in standing. I didn’t know how they have slept at that night after got drunk like that. J J ahahaha It is none of my business
In Turkiye you can see some wedding dinner ceremonies but most of wedding held without serving meal. In the days of old, people serve dinner during ceremonies and it was a custom in Anatolia but today weddings are arranged and held at wedding salons and it is only served cake and drinks. And it takes maximum three hours. My friend’s wedding ceremony was so monotone at least it was so in my sight. Let alone guests, even bridegroom didn’t dance. In our marriage ceremonies not only bridegroom but also people who come to wedding – especially youngs – dance named halay in Turkish. Every part of Turkey has its own kind of dance style. Chinese culture is a different culture. I didn’t find any fun while Chinese people had a great time during wedding. Yeah, they were content with the situation. :))
I don’t want to get marry with a Chinese girl, so my wedding ceremony won’t be like this at all. Actually I don’t like any kind of marriage ceremonies, I want to have a simple ceremony when I marry if my wife agree with me. I hope she would agree. :))

seize the day, enjoy it!

These days are so hot in Jinhua and you cannot stay outside especially during high noon and afternoon. I have class afternoon almost every other day, so I have to sett off for class at the hottest time of the day. That is why I don’t feel to attend afternoon’s classes, that is why I break down the classes sometimes. :((
After all, I like summer more than other seasons. You can do many things when the weather is open and sunny. You want to go out and never feel to stay at home. But now I can not do anything and can not go anywhere because of the lessons. I have to stay at campus and should study harder, because final examinations are about to start. So I try to make the campus much funny by doing the small things I like.
I admit that my greatest pleasure at these hot days is eating fruit yoghurt and ice cream. Especially fruit yoghurt. It is very difficult to find sour yoghurt coz Chinese people prefer to eat sweet and fruit yoghurt. Their taste is totally different from us. For this reason I already get used to eat fruit yoghurt but I don’t complain about that at all. J I like it so much.. When I get back to dorm after class, I try to stop by the supermarket where located on my way and buy an Yili(伊利brand – one of Islamic brand in China- choc-ice or an Algida cornetto (可爱多) ice-cream. I prefer to eat choc-ice and strawberry ones. I have been eating ice-cream here for years but never taste as good-taste as I had in Turkiye. Even same brand ice-cream like Algida is different in both China and Turkiye. So after returning to Turkiye, I will eat as much Turkish ice-cream as I want. :)) ahahaha
Now I am eating mango flavoured yoghurt. Hmmmm..delicious!..hahaha. I every other day go out for getting fruit yoghurt after seven pm. The weather becomes chilly and fresh. It is also pleasure to walk outside at that time. I go to market, buy some junk foods beside of the yogurt, get back to dormitory and start to look a new movie or surfing on the net while eat the foods I bought. What a pleasure! :)) haha
When the weather was cold and chilly here, I have cooked Turkish coffee instead. I still cook but not as much as before.. Anyway, if the weather getting hotter in the place you live and you also don’t feel doing anything but stay at home at sit before the internet or tv, then go to get a fruit yoghurt and enjoy it… and what s more, it is healthy too. :))) It is not healthy but you can get some junky food as well. It is always so up for almost everyone..hih? :))

take care, swine flu can be around you!

Recently a dangerous illness appeared in so many countries. This week, whenever i hear the news, its allways somthing to do with death or a new economic disaster . I think all of you know what I am talking about. Yeah that fucking swine flu spread all over the world unfortunately. You can hear from different countries same swine flu cases. Every passing day a new country added the list of the places where that damn flu sickness has been seen. Everyday confirmed a new case in a new place. This disaster should been prevented before being too late and spread to everywhere. Oh God. You can’t help it to be sorry. :((
Last day I talked with a Mexican girl on the net and she told me the schools had been closed because of swine flu. As all we know from the news, flu spreaded to other places from Mexico, yeah it was occurred in Mexico at first, and most of the death news comes from there. What a pity for them. L Yesterday I read a news from a Turkish paper and it said the school can be closed in Turkiye too. Today’s newspapers told that the minister of national education said there is no sign of swine flu in turkey till today but that is not mean it will not be. Yes it can be seen in Turkiye too. So everyone should be careful about it.
As I know swine flu is not infected from pigs, but I am not sure about that as well. Coz I heard too that swine flu comes from pigs and comes from people who already infected. I worried if swine flu infects by eating pork products and because of that I have done a research on the net. I saw a question on yahoo answers and the person who asked the question also worried if swine flu can be infected by eating pork.. I casted an eye on the replies and most of answerers were saying the same thing; Swine flu – also named as pig flu- is not caught from eating pig meat products. Yeah It may be not infected by eating pigs. Of course this should be asked to experts in order to be sure about that issue, but everybody says the same thing. So you don’t feel doing further researches. No matter what they say, if I had been eating pork, I never would eat it again after outbreak of influenza. I urge you to cook meat properly and kill the microbes if you cannot do without pig meat products. J
Anyway, if it is not infected by eating, then how do we protect ourselves from that serious sickness? What are the protection ways? What should we do for prevention? The most important way to protect from that sickness is washing hands thoroughly and covering the nose and mouth with a tissue during sneezing or coughing. And if you are very close to a person who is already infected, experts recommend to wear a mask for such cases.
I live in china and last years some dangerous flu cases emerged in china and the most important thing should be mentioned is that china already experienced a sars disaster in the last years. Chinese government will show a maximum effort to prevent and control swine flu if it will be seen in China. Today my mother asked me if I am safe or not. Thank God there is no sign of swine flu around me. But I am still trying to be careful. I pray for being headed off as soon as possible. Don’t say there is no sign of flu here, you should be careful no matter where do you live just like as I do.
I quoted some advices from a website in order to know how can be away from disaster and what kind of way should be followed after being infected the virus. Read and follow the advices.
-Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
-Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
-Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
-If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

impressions on shanghai auto show

This weekend passed so different from the usual. I was in shanghai for an event. I think most of you are aware of that event. Yeah it was shanghai 2009 auto show. Before going to shanghai international exhibition center and saw the cars with my own eyes, I had seen the autos on the papers and on the net. Except some unusual and good-looking cars, other cars were normal and can be seen on the streets in our daily life. Even I can dare to say that after leaving from the car exhibition, I saw some good-looking sport cars in front of the main gate of the exhibition center. I expected to see more luxurious and showy sport and jeep style cars but I just saw a lot of Chinese brand cars. Unfortunately I visited there at the weekend and there were a huge crowd of people. It was very difficult to close the cars. They already placed on the same section the high-quality and luxury cars like Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini Land Rover and so on. Apart from the foreigners, thousands of Chinese came to visit to see such cars. they got their camera and came to take pictures of cars. I couldn't even close the such cars because of the peoples who try to take pictures of the cars and models. :) I couldn't even take a picture before Ferrari and other cars. Ferrari, Lamborghini and most of luxury cars were cordoned off and let alone to touch they didn't let to people even close to them. They were right to do so but I still didn't like it. People circled the cars and were taking pictures. I tried to to take a picture of Lamborghini but I couldn’t do it because of the crowded.
I want to say that I have never seen so many DSL camera until that day. Almost everybody have such DSLR (digital single lens reflex) cameras. Who? Me? Oh I just have a digital camera which has a charge problem. I charge it for several hours but it takes only less than an hour. So seeing so many DSLR cameras really made me so upset. :(( But it is ok coz I want to get professional camera as soon as I save enough money.
So I must admit that not only couldn’t take good and nice pictures because of the inferior quality of my camera, but also because of the crowded, I regretted to visit the fair. If I live in Shanghai I think I would not regret it but I live in another province and went from there only to visit that fair. That is craziness indeed. If a Chinese couple didn’t help me after getting out of the metro, it would be so difficult to find the place. Fortunately they also headed for fair and have showed me the way. And I almost couldn't find a ticket so I could enter, Thank God they let me to enter with the ticket belonging to another date. I wish I visited there at weekdays, it might not be so crowded. In spite of everything, I can say that I got a bit experience about fairs, so it is ok. Next time I will do better with a good timing. :)) haha
I actually only two years ago didn't interest in cars and motors. They didn't raise my curiosity at all because I couldn't drive a car, I still can’t drive but today I have a dream to buy my own car one day, and I try to find a way to get driving license at once. Most of people around me have driving license and that makes me so upset coz I don't have it yet.
When I said to some Chinese about that visiting, they always asked me if I think to buy a new car. Let alone to buy a new one, I don't even have an old one. :( Chinese people always think we foreigner have a lot of money, but that s not true of course. There are also some poor foreigner like me. J ahaha I don't have to buy a car for now but I hope to buy a good one one day. I saw a lot of cars which already sold out like the GMC I like. It seemed an expensive one but already sold out too.
After looking around the car sections, I went to the areas which exhibited the spare parts of autos. In those parts there were a few people and most of them were foreigner. So I could browse around those parts so smoothly. There were a lot of foreigners from various countries like Turkey India USA German African countries and so on.... Yeah I saw some Turkish businessmen too but unfortunately there weren’t any Turkish brand car and company. I am depressed about that case but I can’t help it too, perhaps one day I will do it, I will establish a huge car company named AG motor, who knows. In God I trust! :)) By the way AG motor can be a good name hih? :) ahaha
It has taken almost more than five hours to look around the exhibition area. When I got out from the center, it was almost five pm and I was exhausted so much. On the top of the main gate of the center, 2011 shanghai auto show was announced. I think I will be there in 2011 too if God willing.

manage your cyber world!

I saw a question on a website when I was surfing on the net yesterday. The question was (quoted the same as in the website) ‘Television, Computer, Mobile; Most Time Spent In A Day?’
I don’t know how do you spend your time before your pc. Do you play computer games for a long time, chat with people you met thanks to the net, read the news, use the net for the business, try to learn a new software, follow or write for blogs, watch the videos and movies or find new friends? For what reason do you use your computer and internet? After I saw that question on the net, I thought a while and asked myself the questions I listed below. I do many things on the net actually. I don’t use my pc for playing the games because I don’t like the computer games. But what about the others? I must admit that I use the net for the all other reasons. I like to surfing for instance and it takes a lot of time. So what do people say for that question?
When I casted an eye on the replies, I figured out that most of people spend their times before their computers just like I do. To telling the truth, I spend most of my time before my pc. It is at least four hours a day. That is not a short time actually, but it is not wasting time as well if you can make capital of internet. We should use internet properly and usefully. If you don’t use the net for training yourself or use it in order to reach information in shortest time possible, then it can be said you waste your time before your pc and stay away from the real life for nothing. For instance I have a friend, he almost spend whole day in front of the screen. Sometimes I look at him in order to check what does he do when he uses the net. Except the times when he watches the English lesson videos, movies or football matches, I usually see him as he visits the same websites. Especially socializing websites such as facebook and twitter or learning language websites like italki, livemocha and englishbaby. Yeah he may learn a lot from the learning language websites but he also spends a lot of times to visit some nonsense websites. As for me, It is not good to wasting time to visit socializing websites, but learning language websites are ok and sometimes they can help you to find an appropriate language partner.
I usually visit news websites and online newspapers. I like to read all about politician, current events, economy, and news about technology. I try to read at least ten column about various subjects from literature to sports. I can not find any Turkish book I want because of living in China. I only have the books I took along with me when coming to china and I already read all of them. So I try to follow the column from the papers in place of the books. I would prefer to read serious articles. Some columnist like Ahmet Turan Alkan use an ironic way to simplify the complicated issues for the people. Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I spend most of my time to read columns. And that is so important to train myself for my future.
I also prefer to follow some good blogs. They are useful indeed and I can recommend them to everybody. My favorite blog is ‘the majority of two’ that published some easy and quality articles by a Canadian lady. Here is the link of that blog. Check it out! http://majorityoftwo.blogspot.com/
Of course everyone uses the net for the different reasons and purposes. I asked the people around me the same question and most of them say the same thing; ‘I use the computer and internet for the communication, follow the news and watching the videos and so on.’
Actually it is so obvious that internet is indispensable today. A life without internet is unimaginable.
People solve their bulk of problems by means of the net; their working difficulties, money transfers, ordering goods, buy something and so on that I am not able to remember now. Because of those reasons, internet is really indispensable.
So I actually write that article to say people to spend their valuable time for valuable things. You can encounter so many nonsense and worthless things on the net besides the valuable and precious knowledge. So it is in your own power to make use of your time. Don’t spent your time for nothing. Evaluate the internet for your own interest but properly and carefully. If you can not manage to use the net, then try to remove the computer from your life and return to real life from a cyber world. :)) Yours truly.

move to U.S.A

I have seen a video on yappr what is a learning English website. Here is the link for you, www.yappr.com . you can visit it and I think you will like the videos on it. You can follow the words from the small box on the side of the video. That makes the videos more understandable. It is a useful website. The website informs me by sending e-mails when new videos are released. So two days ago when I opened my gmail account, I saw a new e-mail from that website. I opened the videos and casted an eye over them. One video attracted my attention. It was about the American real estate market. It mentioned the discount prices on the properties.
Chinese people start to buy properties in USA. Financial crisis affects all of the people in the world, but of course Americans are affected the most. I think because of that reason Americans sell their properties. But in America almost everybody try to sell their house. ABC news channel said there are 3.9 million houses for sale in America now. If such a huge amount of people try to sell their property, who will buy their homes in America? If you ask someone to buy your home, I think he would say that his house is also for sale. That is why experts recommend that foreigners buy property in the United States because this time of crisis is a high time to buy property in America. ABC reporter David Kerley reported that wealthy Chinese people begin to buy realty in the United States. If Chinese people can afford to buy something even in America, despite of the worldwide economic crisis, then we can understand easily the economic condition of Chinese people. In china you really can see a huge polarization between poor and rich people. Last week I read an article and according to it, in china there are two hundred million wealthy people with middle income families. Let’s suppose half of that population can afford to buy a property in China, and as for me at least one fourth of the mentioned population can afford to buy realty in America. So I guess on the future dates, the number of the people who bought realty in America will increase. Most of the buyer of the 3.9 million property will be Chinese. The video also mentioned the visit of Yin Guohua -who is a lawyer in china- to the United States in order to hunt a suitable house. And ‘It is a good time,’ he has said ‘to buy property in the U.S.
Not only Guohua but also a few dozen other well-to-do Chinese signed up for a real estate tour of the U.S.A. Chineses are looking for good investment opportunities, around the all world. It seems that they don’t want to miss any opportunity just as this one too. In the days of old, buying a realty abroad seemed a dream for a Chinese, but today it is not, after watching the video I browsed an eye on the comments and saw that so many chineses made comment on the video and most of them say to buy a property in abroad is not dream anymore. For that matter I quoted a comment from them, it says ‘with more and more people in china are getting richer, it may be more popular to buy a property abroad. So now I am working as hard as I can, hoping to earn a lot of fortune, and to get my own piece of America one day, maybe it's not a dream, look...,it will come true.’ Yes they believe they will purchase their own place oneday and work harder to realize it. Chaim Katzap from Lion’s Property Development Group says they are down price, not down the values, so it is good for Chinese to buy now. He says they are doing good. Yes they are getting rich and know how they use the investment opportunities cleverly. I don’t know if well-to-do Turkish families are also aware of that case. I hope they also know and welcome to the opportunities. I may not say behalf of Turkish families but I think Americans will see more Chinese neighbour in their apartments. We will see it together in the future. J

AN ARTICLE ON FACEBOOK

Facebook, today you can hear that word in everywhere, it became a part of our daily conversations, or rather to say, it became a part of our life. Just two years ago we were in the dark about that socializing website, but today I think almost everyone visit that website at least once a day. It is rumored that there are more than sixty million facebook user in the world, that is a huge amount. More than that, Facebook users are gradually increasing day by day. I read on an article about facebook and it said ‘Facebook continuous to be growing at the rate of around 5 million users a week according to the latest number.’ Can you image it, 5 million users just for a week. Only consider this 5 million, you can be aware of the growing rate of facebook..

So how about for Turkiye? In Turkiye there are more than one million users and this amount is getting raise. Facebook is so popular in Turkiye, especially among the students.

I heard from one of my friend that the creater of facebook already became the richest young in the world, I don’t know if that information is true, but it is possible of course.

So people sign up for facebook but what kind of expectation they have? If you ask that question to a regular facebook user, he will probably say ‘I can find my old friends and get in touch with them again.’ And he will add ‘ facebook help me to stay in touch with my old and present friends.’ That is partly right, or we can say that most of people sign up for facebook because of that reason, I mean for getting in touch with their old and present friends.

On facebook you can share videos, make comments on photos and play games too. Also you let others know your favorite songs, singers, movies, writers, books and so on. So it is especially a good way to kill time for women who pass the whole day at home.

Including me so many people on facebook don’t add people if they don’t know them or don’t share the past with them, but such people just form a minority group on facebook. Especially today most of facebook user use facebook in order to make new friends. That is coming to mean FB already deviated from its aim. It was created by Mark Zuckerberg as an easy way for him and his friends to better connect with schoolmates. But it lost its aim in the long run. I also signed up for fb to better connect with my friends, and I never try to enlarge my friend list, coz I don’t accept people who I don’t know.

Mark Zuckerberg don’t think the same things as he thought before. He see facebook as his company, as a source of income. That is why facebook announced to sell the personal information of the users. So it is so important to not enter your personal information on facebook such as information of your credit card, your mailing address or some other important private information. Your carelessness about information can get you into a lot of trouble later on. I urge you to think twice before signing up for facebook. Because, besides so many advantages, there are a lot of disadvantages of it as well.

I did some researches about facebook before starting to write that article. With the result that fb users spent their one billion and one-hundred million minute (1 billion and 100 million) before facebook. People really spend their times like hell before it. For me, I just open fb in order to check my e-mails and comments, and it takes my just a few minutes. I don’t care the videos or other’s photos so much.

Facebook is useful but if you can manage to use it properly. If you waste your time as watching all videos or checking all photos on your page, then you should deactivate your account and return to the real life. Life should not be ignored by passing whole times before a deceitful screen. Life is totally different from the cyber world. Neither love nor relationship is true on the net, so you should be careful.

Don’t forget to be careful for your information as well. Don’t be friend with anyone when you use your real information. Don’t expect the others to be as good-hearted as you are. You could be deceived, so I want to push you for caution again and again. Good luck to all.

BACK TO THE UNIQUE PLACE

July is approaching. I am happy and getting excited. I think July significant because I will go back to Turkiye in the beginning of this July. Let’s hope of course! J It will be four years that I have lived in china. I have been to Turkiye just one time during that four years. With this time it will be the second time to spend my summer vacation in my hometown with my family. That is why I am happy. :-D

I know what means of missing someone very well, I know what is feeling of longing. And I also know absence from home. I never forget and always remember when my brother stayed in a boarding school and have returned to home just once a week, sometimes once a month. I was seeing everybody with their schoolbag while they had a smile on their face. I had taken a look at the students crowd but most of time I could not see my brother among the crowded. And I had headed home feeling a lot of frustration. L I think not only my parents but also my sisters wait for my return. Fortunately there are so many opportunity in order to talk and see each other despite of distance. Otherwise every second of being away from home will be a torture for me. Anyway, the time of meeting is approaching.

So many people who is away from homeland feel the absence of the foods, but today you can find any kind of food in everywhere. Even though it is a small place, but still there are a few Turkish restaurants in the city where I live. So in place of foods I miss to talk with my friends so much, reminisce about past days, miss to eat out with them. I miss to hear sounds of adhans, go to a bookshop to select some new published books, stop by a newspaper vendor and get some paper, then return to home to read them. As all we know, reading the actual newspaper is far different from reading it online. Going to bosphorus tour with my mother is also among one of the things that I missed. And of course I will sit across the beautiful scenery of maiden’s tower and Bosphorus and sip my cappuccino too. J The long and the short of it, I miss so many things and I will fulfill my longings.

Most of my friends study abroad like me. So it will be great to reunion with them too. I am especially planning to have an adventure with my bosom friend. Getting camping equipment and clear out of the noisy life of Istanbul will be pretty good for both of us. It is not definite for now but I might visit my buddies who live out of Istanbul as well.

It seems as if I expect a lot from that vacation but I will try to do whatever I missed. I don’t want to say if only I had been such-and-such place or I wish I did such-and-such things after get back to China again. I hope and want all my wishes will come true. :)
